..consumated by our great -great grandparents, where there was epedemic of cholera. It was ordered in Portugal in the year 1700. This was donated to the present barrio of Candellaria named after the saint. There was no town before except Batan where the Datu Kalantiaw hold as their permanent government and Banga was under Batan. That was the time the Spaniards occupied the Philippine islands. They brought us the christian religion that the first people of the Philippines believe up to the present. To me I believe in the miracles of the Virgin. Whatever I asked I am given. So after the second world war the chapel where the saint was housed, the whole building was toppled down except the altar where the Virgin stood. The people of the barrio seems to abandon it so we decided to get it back brought it to Jugas where our forefathers live before. This is how we own it again. We built a chapel made of bamboo and nipa and hold fiesta every year. The day of the fiesta is every February 2. When the road was built passing our land I decided with our cousins to build a better Chapel made of cement and galvanised roofing. Now the chapel stand in the lot I donated. It is 1,000 square meters big surrounded with concrete fence. Every year we could see the improvement. Every fiesta time we gather and propose what to do for the next fiesta. My grandmother is the oldest of the group so I always led in the movement.
