AGE 26 TO 50

After Novaliches going to Malabon we have to passed the Japanese sentinel on guards. Good that they did not stoped us. In Malabon there were no Japanese yet. Every day the people seems free so the male ones go gambling. Ferrer often times won in poker that we got plenty of money a month later some one from Banga came by boat looking for their children in Manila who were studying and were caught by the war. We decided to go with them. Our problem is how to pass the many guards from Malabon to Batangas where their boat "batel" was docked. I had hundreds of money and afraid to carry it. What I did was to put it under the cover of my shoes and some were place and sewn it on the hem of my dress. Good there was a Japanese who onece live i Manila who guide our way to Lemery Batangas.

Here we stayed in a big house of Dr. del Castillo to wait for others who were still in Manila. In this place there was no Japanese yet. Gambling is still free here. Ferrer again  was lucky. We answer the fair of others who had no money. It was night time we left for Buruanga the last end of Aklan province. It took us 2 days to reach the place. Good when we arrived we were lucky to get the last trip of the bus going to Kalibo.

We proceed to the barrio where we build a small hut. We planted rice and raised pigs and chicken. A month later I gave birth to Buddy. The Japanese occupied the town so day and night we were alert. There are times for us to slept outside the house. Later on whe we heard the Japanese was looking for the Mayor of Banga my brother and other companions brought a flag..
