AGE 25 TO 50

..Banga district. Because I was only a substitute so I was always out until I passed the Civil  Service exam that I was appointed permanent. Although I was permanent I'm always assigned in different schools. I almost rounded the different schools in the barrios of Banga. I was once assigned in the barrio of Daja. Here I have to cross the Aklan river. At that time the disidents (hukbalahap) were active that every afternoon we go home crossing the river. One afternoon the flood came and there were thirteen of us riding the boat. The current was swift and scared me that I kneel on the boat saying prayers to save us.
In 1963 I was assigned in the central school where I finished my thirty-three years service and reached my sixty-years age that I retired from worked. That time all my six children were able to finished their college studies. So I had been going to different places. To Luzon, Bicol Region, Davao, Zamboanga, hundred island in Pangasinan, batanes and Cebu, Later I went to Australia and in America. I was immigrant in Australia and had been receiving allowance. In 1987 I went home and did not return anymore as I have to attend to my plantation in Banga.
Every now and then I go to the barrio. I have to supervise making copra and nipa thatchets. When I have no work I use to play mahjong with other retirees. This is my only way to relax after my hard worked bringing my big family. I thank god and happy that I reach the age of 80 years last Jan. 8, 1996.
