The most fearful experienced I had is when we stay in Bacan air raid (shelter). There were no houses left cause when the Japanese occupied the town they burned all the houses near the town. So we had to stay in the dugout air raid. One night the soldiers made assualt , the Japanese _?_ them and it happened the Japanese reached our place. We all gathered in the dugout to hide but they found us. Celing Ferrers' sister who was young put mud in her face and arms. We were afraid they might get her. The Japanese asked where the soldiers go and we made signs that they passed near us but proceed to the other direction. Good there was a boy who was our neighbor whom they got to guide them. They have been asking if Ferrer is a USAFFE. The boy told them he is not. So they drove us back to the town. Right there we hiked going the town carrying some clothes we could carry. We stayed in the municipal hall where the Japanese lived. Every night we hear "pick bong" the sound of shotgun. There were hundreds of us in the building. Every time we hear the bombs we ran for safety in any corner of the buillding. A week later the bolo battalion coming from the town of Libacao came with only bolos as their weapon force themselves to enter the municipal building. There were only 14 Japanese soldiers in Banga but the building is fortified with layers of barbwires...
